altered suitcase workshop
10/10- 2:30 to 5:30 altered cases
Love Denise's altered caravan case?? join us to make your very own!! cover your case with paper, embellishments and more. Bring along your own favorite ephemera to personalize your cool case. Makes a fabulous case to carry your workshop supplies to class!!
cost for this workshop: $50.00 (includes case)
details: the cases we are altering are 10x14x5. the perfect size for carrying to class! (these cases are not as large as the one Denise has...that one gets WAY too heavy!!) the first picture is a photo of the actual cases we are using in class.

the altered book
our altered book workshop is fast approaching and filling up quickly. if you are interested in this unique art form give a call or drop by soon to reserve your seat!
below are a few photos...I will upload a few more tonight (my camera batteries died. argh!)
altered book workshop details...2/21- 2:30 to 5:30 . . . the original altered book. . . the word “altered” has taken on a whole new life in the paper crafting world. It has completely morphed to cover a multitude of art media. Well we are bringing back the original!! A “true” altered book is just that …an altered book! We will start with a classic vintage book and turn it in to a piece of art! We will share a variety of altering techniques to get you well on your way to complete your altered book over time. Basic paper art experience required. Cost for this workshop: $30.00
**note**you may bring your own vintage tome or we will provide one for you. If you have a favorite title you would like to alter just be certain to follow these guidelines...
1. book must be approx. 5.5 x 8.5 in size (no bigger)
2. must have a hard cover
3. pages should not be glossy
4. thickness should be about 1.5"

February is altered art month
you ask...we listen..and deliver!
so many of you love the arts & scraps altered art style and have asked us to share our designs and techniques in workshop formats. We have offered a variety of altered art classes in the past...but for the month of February we are going all out!!
all month long we are offering altered, collage style art workshops.
the first altered art class we would like tell you about is our mini art shrine class....
mini art shrines are super fun to craft and share!
take a peek at a few interpretations of the art shrine medium.
**(please note- these photos are not an actual class model, rather a sampling of the shrine art medium)
workshop details:
2/21- 11:30 to 2:00. . . diminutive art shrines…these little works of art are so fun to create and even more fun to share! You will need to gather photos of you, family and/or friends (vintage images work nicely...be sure to shrink down in size and print in black and white or sepia tones) also bring small trinkets, scraps, bits and pieces to use to decorate your shrine. (this is a must, not optional!!) we will construct a mini shadowboxish piece of art using many collage, layering and aging techniques. Check out this link for sample pics to get a true idea of how cool these projects are! Cost for this workshop: $30.00.
